“I wanted to work in housing so knew I needed to gain a customer service qualification, and I chose an apprenticeship so that I could gain knowledge on-the-job,” said 18-year-old Daisy Harper who has just completed her level 2 customer service apprenticeship with Wolverhampton Homes.
Daisy added: “During my training I gained in-depth knowledge of the company and also became more confident, and I now know that I want to continue with a career in customer service, but also use my knowledge of housing too.
“When I found out that I’d successfully completed the end-point assessment and finished my apprenticeship it felt amazing as I knew that all my hard work, and that of my assessor, had paid off!
“I’ve now been offered a 12-month contract with Wolverhampton Homes and am planning on applying to progress to the level 3 apprenticeship standard in customer service and hope to progress further in the company in the future.
“I never knew how much I’d learn on this course and I can still progress to do more qualifications, so don’t always think that university is the only way to get into your dream career.”
