Kerique Williams completed the Level 2 Rain Engineering Apprenticeship with the college and said the following about this new programme: “I was quite shy coming into college with new people and being on the railway with all the dangers, however, with the knowledge I’ve now got because of this apprenticeship, I know I will be safe and feel more assertive when I am working on the track. I have gained a lot of confidence and have learnt so much in a year. You meet different people and do different jobs. Thanks to all of the experiences I have been given, I now feel really assured.
“The course has given me a lot of opportunities that will help me go into different job roles. I learnt a lot of practical skills alongside the theory lessons. Having access to the great facilities and the rail track is really good because there’s loads of practical jobs I can go into which I am excited about. I now feel safe on the railway.
“The whole team support us and have given us guidance. They are all respectful and speak to us like we are their family. My end goal will be to go into something electrical and this course has definitely made me more ambitious!”
