Four years of hard work has paid off for 23-year-old Luke Hickman who has recently completed an engineering manufacturing advanced apprenticeship at metal stamping, laser fabrication and welding company Jenks and Cattell, in Wednesfield.
Luke, who combined working for the company with attending college to study for the City & Guilds Level 3 maintenance technician diploma, said: “I’ve always had an interest in engineering and wanted to experience working life, earn money and gain the skills I need to pursue a career in maintenance engineering.
“The apprenticeship provided me with the skills and knowledge I need to do my job and I was very happy when I completed my end point assessment and completed my training – I’m still working at Jenks and Cattell and hope to stay on there.”
