If you want to work as a support worker or teaching assistant in an educational setting, this course will enable you to develop an understanding of the teaching and learning environment.
You will learn about the development of children and young people and how to support their wellbeing, as well as how to support mature students, learners with special needs, and those for whom English is an additional language.
You will also have the opportunity to improve your English and maths skills as part of the course.
This course is ideal if you are waiting for your Level 2 course to commence in September, or if you need to improve your skills and knowledge to enable you to gain a placement in a school setting.
To access this course you are required to demonstrate that you are working at Level 1 in English and maths.
Whilst a placement in a relevant setting is not a requirement of the course, you are advised to source a placement as part of your personal development and to prepare you to progress to a Level 2 qualification.
