If you’re an employer in the hairdressing sector, taking on an apprentice is a great way to train new staff and for your business to benefit from an employee with the latest sector skills and knowledge.
Whether you need a new member of staff to train as a junior stylist, or want to increase the services you can offer by having an employee with more advanced skills, apprenticeship training will enable them to work alongside existing staff and learn on-the-job.
Apprentices will combine gaining experience in the salon with working towards a set of occupational standards set by employers, attending college – usually one day per week – where they will be taught by experienced tutors and further benefit from working in the Academy hair salon which operates on a commercial basis and is open to the public.
Throughout their training, apprentices will be supported by college staff who will work closely with you to ensure that the skills they are learning are what is required by your business and that they will achieve their full potential and career aspirations, and meet your business needs.
The college has a dedicated recruitment team to support employers in appointing an apprentice – including advertising vacancies, screening applicants and shortlisting candidates for interview; and with a talent pool of enthusiastic young people waiting for a business apprenticeship you can be sure you’ll be employing the right person for the job!
And apprenticeships aren’t just for new staff! If you want to upskill and develop existing members of your team they can benefit from apprenticeship training too – email employerenquiries@wolvcoll.ac.uk and a member of the team will contact you to discuss your requirements further.
