Enrolling on the Level 3 Nail Technology course has given 37 year old Aimee the skills and confidence to land a role working as a Beauty Therapist at Heaven Skincare. Talking about her time at the college, Aimee said:
“I completed my Level 2 in Beauty Therapy last year and am now just about to complete Level 3 in Nail Technology. Last year I learnt many practical skills including waxing, facials, manicures, pedicures, make-up, eye treatments and tanning. There was also a lot of theory work looking into the muscles, bone structure, lymphatic system, and the skin. I really enjoyed manicures and pedicures and decided to progress on to the Level 3 in Nail Services.
“The Nail Technology Level 3 course teaches you all about the different systems used in the nail industry as well as nail art. There is a lot of theory work relating to the skin and nail structure including nail disorders and diseases, as well as what products are used, and teaching us good quality skills to work in a salon.
“Since starting at the college, I have developed my confidence and now believe in myself. I have just started a beauty therapist role at Heaven Skincare with Deborah Mitchell, which is an amazing opportunity. I look forward to learning more skills and knowledge with her and her team.
“To anyone thinking of coming to college, I would say be positive and believe in yourself. The tutors are amazing in the Hair and Beauty department and will always give you help. If you have a passion for beauty, whether it being nails, make-up, or hair, this is the college to come to. I have loved my time at college and hopefully will be back in the future to learn more skills.”
