Doing a work experience placement in the college’s own marketing department whilst studying for the Level 3 extended diploma in art and design, made 20-year-old Ajay White realise that he wanted to pursue a similar career.
Ajay, who has recently started a communications apprenticeship at City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “I’ve always wanted to be a graphic designer and during my work experience placement I did some design and social media for the team and it really interested me.
“I didn’t want to go to university after finishing college, and I liked the idea of being in a working environment whilst continuing to learn, so an apprenticeship is ideal for me!“
Ajay’s tutor Claire Henderson said: “Ajay worked extremely hard during his three years as a student at the college and it’s great that studying here gave him the confidence to pursue his dreams and that his work experience placement inspired him to apply for an apprenticeship and take the first steps to his future career.”
