Employers from across the region wanting to find out about apprenticeships can watch a recording of a webinar hosted by City of Wolverhampton College on its YouTube channel.
The online session – originally broadcast as part of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s Business Festival in October – introduces employers to apprenticeships and funding available, including government incentives currently entitling eligible employers to up to £3,000 for taking on a new apprentice.
Under the government scheme – which runs until January 31, 2021 – employers will receive £3,000 for each new apprentice aged 16-18, £2,000 for apprentices aged 19-24 and £1,500 for those aged 25 and over.
The session also includes an explanation of the new apprenticeship standards, the training and assessment process, how employers can use an online digital portal to find, monitor and manage their apprenticeship training and an overview of the college’s new apprenticeship programme for 2020/21.
