A HUGE congrats to our BBC apprentice, Yusaf, who has been named ‘Best New Talent across BBC England’!
Yusaf said: “Ever since I was young, I’ve always been interested in the media and this is a really exciting industry to get in to! I’ve really enjoyed video journalism and further developing my skills. I want to carry on with journalism and continue to produce great content that engages a young audience. I’d definitely recommend the apprenticeship path as I have gained real workplace and industry experience and I’m in a really exciting and growing industry.
Peter Cole, who teaches digital media production, said: “Yusaf is modest, with a natural warmth that makes people want to speak to him and share their stories. He’s a great listener and is quick to adapt to different people and situations.
Throughout his apprenticeship he studied and passed national journalism exams in a range of subjects including law, ethics, news writing, Radio and TV news production, local and central government and mobile journalism.”
Yusaf was also nominated for NCTJ apprentice of the year in 2018.
