After completing the foundation level in art and design in 2023, 22 year old Caitlin Richardson is now studying concept art at Staffordshire University with aspirations to become a freelance concept designer in the future.
Caitlin said: “Since leaving the college, I began my life as a student at Staffordshire University studying concept art for games and film, a course that I was encouraged to pursue through my college tutors. I also work on a freelance basis taking commissions, something which my college tutors taught me how to set up.
“Studying with the college helped me decide what I wanted to do in the future, and helped me to explore the varied career options available in art and design. With some guidance from my lecturers, I became more confident in both my 3D and digital work, completing two final major projects in sculpture, one of which was graded as distinction.
“The lecturers are not only incredibly well informed and eager to help, but they are very friendly and incredibly welcoming too. It was their guidance and passion about what they teach that encouraged me to pursue a career in art and design. The course taught me that there was more to art than I had originally thought, and really helped me to get to the destination I’m at now. I can’t recommend it enough.”
