After being unemployed for three years, Edette Esoh heard about the college’s business administration sector gateway programme from a friend and was interested to find out about what skills she could learn.
The course covers the skills and knowledge needed to work in a business administration role, as well as how to produce a CV, apply for a job, write a covering letter and perform in an interview. And, at the end of the course, successful candidates have a guaranteed interview with an employer looking to take on staff in a relevant role.
Edette said: “The course was amazing and really improved my confidence in CV and letter writing.
“I was a little nervous to have an interview at the end of the course but it was relaxed and I felt well prepared.”
Edette now she wants to continue training and has enrolled for maths and English courses at the college to improve her employment prospects further.
