Employers across the region are being invited to promote career opportunities in their industry through virtual work experience sessions for students at City of Wolverhampton College.
The college is launching the online sessions to give students the opportunity to find out more about careers available in a range of industries and ask employers about the skills they look for when recruiting staff.
Employers can participate in one-hour information sessions to give students an overview of the business and what a typical working day entails, or take part in a workplace challenge and set students a series of work-related tasks that they can complete on their own before presenting their findings and suggestions in an online feedback meeting.
Richard Hobbs, work experience co-ordinator at the college, said: “Work experience is an important part of students’ courses, however with the current lockdown restrictions continuing for the next few months this is a way for students to benefit from face-to-face discussions with employers, find out about career opportunities in a range of industries and take part in activities to put the skills they are learning in the classroom into practice in work-related tasks.”
