Since completing the Level 3 in UPS in 2023, 19 year old Ethan Secker is taking steps to achieve his dream of becoming a police officer and has started training with West Mercia police.

Ethan said: “As a student police officer on the PCDA my role entails following training, completing assignments for university, and learning as much as I can about the law before I become operational. I am aiming to be on division by the middle of 2024 and independently patrolling by the end of 2024. In the future, I hope to excel in my role as a police officer and may consider becoming a detective.

“The Level UPS Level 3 course has given me a massive leg up in my training as many of the topics that were covered have come back up, this has given me the opportunity to get ahead on my learning and look at the topics in more detail as I already have an understanding.

“I would definitely recommend the course if you want to go into a career in uniformed public services. The opportunities the college gives you will help you excel.”
