Fallon started studying at City of Wolverhampton College on an Access to Higher Education course – Health professional’s pathway in 2019, her plan was to pursue her dream of becoming a midwife.
Towards the end of the course the country was put into a national lockdown which left Fallon feeling uncertain of if she was going to achieve the grades needed to secure her place at University.
Fallon did successfully complete the Access to High Education course and secured a place at University. All Lectures are online which has meant Fallon is working from home. Fallon then began her placement in December, this gave Fallon the physical interaction she was missing from her online lectures.
Fallon said “The hospital environment is an area of particular preference to myself but during a global pandemic is very different. COVID positive mums suffering loss, missed appointments due to worry of coming into hospital certainly highlights the impact on maternity care. Even though it is a challenging time I feel so exceptionally proud to be working with those within the NHS offering the highest quality care and support.”
