People who want to gain a qualification to enable them to study for a degree at university can find out about a fast-track course run by City of Wolverhampton College at an information session next month.

Tutors from the college’s Access to Higher Education diploma programme will be at the Paget Road campus on Wednesday 2 February, 1pm-3pm and 5pm-7pm, for people to get details of the course and the range of specialist pathways available.

The one-year full-time programme – which is open to anyone aged 19 or over – is widely recognised by universities and bridges the gap between existing qualifications and those needed to study for a degree.

The college offers specialist pathways in business, education, health professionals, health and social care, and public sector services and policing which give students an overview of their chosen field and the study skills, knowledge and confidence needed to complete a degree.

Representatives from the University of Wolverhampton will be at the event to talk to attendees about the benefits of the access programme and the degree and employment opportunities it can lead to, including jobs in accountancy, events management, healthcare, human resources, law, nursing, policing, probation services, public health, social work and teaching.
