Games design students at City of Wolverhampton College will be getting tips from leading experts at an interactive industry event.
Experts from games design companies will be giving students the lowdown on working in the fast-paced industry, as well as advice on producing portfolios, gaining work experience and applying for their first job.
Designers from games studios Flix Interactive, Playground Games and Rare will be passing on their expertise at the event at the Lighthouse Media Centre on Friday 28 February.
They will be joined by the Oliver Twins who started writing games aged 12, in the 1980s, and now run the games consultancy agency Games Dragons, composer Matthew Harper who has written music for several video games, and tutors from Staffordshire University’s games design degree programme.
David Walters, tutor in computer games development at the college, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet renowned experts in games design and get advice and tips on how to make it big in their future careers in the industry.”
The college – which was named as Training Provider of the Year for its creative arts courses at the Creative and Cultural Skills Awards 2019 – is currently accepting applications for games design programmes starting in 2020. Apply here or Tel: 01902 836000
