43-year-old Jaswinder Dhadra enrolled for the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care to progress in her career and, as well as getting a new job, is now completing a ‘top-up’ course at the University of Wolverhampton which will lead to a full BA (Hons) in Social Care and Social Policy.
Jaswinder said: “Completing the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care has enabled me to further enhance my skills in planning care and carrying out risk assessments, and undertake planning, recording, monitoring and progress made towards agreed outcomes by the service user within their care plan.
“I have recently got a job as a rehabilitation assistant with the council and am thinking of moving into social work when I’ve gained my degree.
“The course is excellent for people who want to go into social services or social care – it was great fun doing the course and the tutors were helpful and supportive throughout.”
