After doing odd jobs, 23 year-old Lewis Peck decided to join the Kickstart programme to better his future. The 5 day training programme enhances skills needed to secure employment including skills for the workplace, CV writing, application and interview, digital skills and much more.
When asked why he decided to do this course Lewis simply said: “anything to better myself”. Having completed the course was more able to create a professional CV, significantly improve his communication skills and left feeling more confident in his abilities.
Lewis aspires to pursue a career in the construction industry and feels that the college has been extremely helpful in allowing him to acquire the skills needed to search and apply for jobs.
When asked what advice he would give to anyone thinking about doing this course Lewis said: “Go on it immediately, put your all in and it will pay off.”
