19-year-old Joshua Cleary started at the college on the Computing/IT Level 1 diploma in 2019, progressed to the Computing/IT Level 2 extended certificate in 2020 and, having started the two-year IT Level 3 diploma in 2021 is now in the second year of the qualification.
Joshua said: “The courses have taught me how to code and about the components of a computer, as well as websites, how to use different software – such as Web Expression and Replit – and project management,
“I’ve also got better at doing assignments as at Level 1 I would always wait for help, but now I only need help when I ask for it.
“If anyone is thinking about coming to college I’d say choose what you want to do and ask for help in lessons if you need it, rather than going solo on every task.”
