Freelance journalist Leah Storm was struggling to find work and was keen to gain financial stability. She was recommended to complete the Level 4 Award in Social Media Content Creator, a free skills development course run in collaboration with BlackRook Academy. This course opened up new opportunities for Leah and at the end of the programme was offered the role of Social Media Assistant with Royston and Lund. Leah is thriving in this new position and spoke very positively about her experience on this course.
Leah said: “The course helped me to fill in the gaps I needed in my own business which has changed the way I present and pitch myself to potential clients. This has ultimately helped me to gain more new clients.
“My favourite part of the course was learning about target audiences and how to find them as well as learning how to identify the most effective posts for my business goals. On LinkedIn I have been able to reach my target audience as well as connect with directors, creators and managers from companies like Pretty Little Thing and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
“The course gave me the knowledge I needed to be more effective in my new role as Social Media Assistant at Royston and Lund and I can’t wait to implement these new skills in this role.”
