The Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Sandra Samuels OBE will be meeting students and apprentices at City of Wolverhampton College during a visit to its Wellington Road campus on Thursday, 9 March.

The Mayor will be greeted on arrival by a welcome parade from 3WV (COWC) West Midlands Police Cadets – the college’s own cadet unit – and students working towards qualifications in uniformed public services, before being escorted on a tour of the campus by college principal and chief executive Malcolm Cowgill.

Councillor Samuels will be shown the college’s training facilities – which include a new Careers and Skills Hub to help people access training and employment opportunities, the New Era hair salon which is open to the public, and the recently extended construction centre featuring a range of trade workshops and outdoor construction site and rail training areas

The Mayor will also hold an audience with students to find out about their experiences at college and talk to them about her year in office and her Mayoral motto of ‘Dare to Dream’.

Mr Cowgill said: “We are delighted that The Mayor is able to make time in her busy schedule to visit the college and are looking forward to showing her our industry-standard training facilities which are helping people of all ages and abilities gain the skills they need for their chosen career.”
