23-year-old Michael Jandu found out about the Groundworks and Plant Operation course from his local Jobcentre. Michael decided to sign up for the course due to his general interest in construction and saw it as a gateway into industry.
Enjoying both aspects of the course and the facilities he is learning in, Michael said: “There is a balance of theory and practical which is good. The practical side is brilliant to build up our portfolio. The facilities are great, it’s nice, open and safe.”
By taking part of this course Michael has decided he wants to a pursue a career in construction. Here is what he had to say: “I recommend doing the course and trying it. Don’t be put off if you don’t have experience in this sector as this course is hands so you can get the feel for it and it gives you the experience. Definitely try it and if you like it then great!
The Groundworks and Plant course is offered by City of Wolverhampton College in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and supported by Sunbelt Rentals and JCB.
