Young people who are due to leave school in the summer, and adults who want to improve their skills and job prospects, can find out about courses and qualifications on offer at City of Wolverhampton College at an open evening next Wednesday, 26 April.
The college’s campuses at Paget Road, in Compton, and Wellington Road, in Bilston, will be open from 4pm to 7pm, for people to get information on full-time and part-time courses, higher education qualifications and apprenticeships with local employers.
People can also find out about new T Level qualifications – in onsite construction carpentry and joinery, digital support services and healthcare science – which are equivalent to three A Levels which focus on the development of vocational skills and include an indepth industry placement as part of the course.
Those attending can talk to tutors about courses available, tour the campus faciities, take part in activities related to the subject they are interested in studying, and chat to current students about college life.
Anyone unsure of the best course for their chosen career can speak to a member of the college’s advice and guidance team, and staff will be on-hand with information on financial support available to help with course fees and other college costs.
Parents and carers accompanying students to the event can drop-in to interactive workshops to pick up tips on how to help students with homework and support them to develop positive study habits, revision strategies and time management techniques.
