25-year-old Shivani Chaudhari completed the NCTJ Level 3 diploma in journalism at the college in 2020 and is now a digital reporter at the Worcester News.
Shivani said: “I wanted to become a qualified journalist and work for a newspaper and was recommended to do the NCTJ qualification by the editor of the Bromsgove Standard.
“The course covered media law, public affairs, video editing and shorthand and taught me how to work in a newsroom, find a pitch stories, interview people and write good copy.
“Since completing the course I’ve worked as a technical journalist and a social media manager before moving to my current job and hope to become a news editor in the future.
“I’d say to anyone who’s thinking about this course to definitely do it as it gives you key skills for your future career.”
