22-year-old Sian Bebb signed up for a Prince’s Trust Team programme after being made redundant.
Sian, from Shrewsbury, said: “I felt quite low not working and wanted a challenge and the opportunity to learn new skills to help me get a new role, as well as get my confidence back.
“I learnt so many skills – such as producing a CV, how to conduct myself in an interview, communication skills, presentation skills, customer service and working with others – as well as professionalism, the importance of believing in yourself, knowing that you’re capable and working hard in whatever you do.
“The tutors were amazing and wanted the best for everyone in the group. They were there for help whenever it was needed and were very empathetic and kind, organising activities to build our confidence and make us believe in ourselves.
“As a result of doing the course I feel a lot more confidence and more able.
“The Prince’s Trust scheme is fantastic and the amount of work that everyone puts in is incredible – I would highly recommend it as you can learn so much, make new friends and if an employer knows you’ve done it they are more likely to employ you.”
Since completing the Prince’s Trust programme Sian has been successful in securing a position with Housing Group Plus (Severn Side Housing Association) as an Administrative Apprentice.
