Dionne Barrett
Dionne was appointed as a Governor at City of Wolverhampton College in 2022.
Dionne is passionate about empowering young people to reach their full potential and become the best versions of themselves. Her commitment to self-development tools and techniques has been integral to not only her own personal growth, but also to hundreds of young females with whom she has come into contact through her social enterprise, Sister2Sister C.I.C. This enterprise delivers Empowerment Programmes in the community and educational establishments across the West Midlands.
In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavours, she enjoys a career as a government lawyer, and furthers her passion for encouraging continuous growth and development in others by mentoring staff as part of the Civil Service Diversity and Social Mobility schemes. She also participates in programmes aimed at supporting students with education and career progression.
As a mother of two young girls, family life is important to Dionne, and she treasures the time that she spends with her daughters.
