Ian Browne
Ian joined the College in November 2017.
As Vice Principal for Student Success he has responsibility for leading on the quality, development, planning and implementation of an innovative curriculum offer that delivers high levels of success and value for money, as well as line managing the Heads of Faculty to ensure the consistent implementation of college policy and to encourage appropriate innovation.
Additionally, Ian works with the Vice Principal for Business Engagement to ensure the college maximises its funding allocations and achieves value for money, and with the Vice Principal for Student Engagement to ensure student target numbers are met and high levels of learning, teaching and assessment are achieved in all areas.
Ian started out as a Lecturer in Electrical Services in 1989 at East Birmingham College and was soon promoted to Curriculum Manager of this area and led the team to outstanding. He has been in a senior management role since 2003 either as, Director, Assistant Principal or Vice Principal, supporting good and underperforming colleges; helping individuals, teams, campuses and colleges to move to good and outstanding.
Ian has a vast amount of experience in Further Education and Higher Education, working at several colleges across the country including Birmingham, Cheshire, Wiltshire and London, however he is no stranger to Wolverhampton as he graduated at the University of Wolverhampton attaining an MBA.
