A Levels - City of Wolverhampton College

A LEVELS

A Levels are a great way to prepare for university-level study and we are here to guide you along the way. We will help you towards achieving the grades you need and choosing the university, institution or higher-apprenticeship that’s right for you.

With a range of A Levels on offer – many of which are different to those on offer at school – you really can #defineyourfuture at college!

WE're better than sixth form

Studying isn't just about academics, here at college we offer a rich campus life:

On-site College Starbucks offering the full Starbucks drinks menu at an exclusive discount.

No school uniform - unlike most Sixth Form schools, coming to college means you're not required to wear a mandatory uniform.

Independence - You're not required to stay on site for the entire day; if you've finished, you can go home.

Dedicated support from tutors throughout your studies with us. You'll receive comprehensive support throughout your course.

A high grade academy to support students in achieving A*-B grades.

about our a level offer

We can help you study the subjects that interest you and the combination that best suits your plans for your future career.

You’ll be able to work and complete research in wvSixth – our very own sixth form centre on the Paget Road campus which is solely for use by A Levels students and has computers and places to work individually or in small groups.

In addition to lessons, you’ll have a weekly tutorial with your dedicated personal tutor, as well as studying additional short qualifications in environmental sustainability and financial planning for your future, such as understanding pay and pay slips and understanding your employment contract and rights.

One of our key focuses is preparing you for your future by creating opportunities and experiences for you to gain the skills and knowledge you need to go to university or move straight into a job and, whichever route you take when you leave us, go on to a successful career in your chosen industry.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY...

Here's what some of our students had to say about studying with us:

The support I received at College was great. I absolutely loved College and I have had the best time ever.

Benjamin Phillips

A Level student Luca Mardare wearing a black and cream checked shirt working in the college library

College is quite different to school – you’re free to express yourself and take advantages of opportunities to develop personally, and you can benefit from extra support from tutors if you need it!

Luca Andrei Mardare

A-level student Paulina Patzova, wearing a white lab coat, carrying out an experiment in the science lab

I’ve found it easy to settle in, everyone is very friendly and the supportive and encouraging environment made me feel welcome and even more determined to learn and constantly improve.

FAQS

I haven’t got the grades to do A Levels, what are my options?

If you want to do A Levels in science but haven’t got the right grades for the subjects you want to study, the Access to A Levels programme will give you the opportunity to study a range of GCSEs, including English and maths, so that you can progress to A Levels next year.

Can I study A Levels and a Level 3 qualification at the same time?

We know that doing three A Levels might not always be the best combination for your future career, so we offer three Level 3 qualifications that can be studied as part of your study programme. You can opt to combine one A Level with two Level 3 options, or two A Levels with one Level 3 option.

The Level 3 options are:

• Applied Criminology

• Applied Law

• Applied Psychology
